Dear Parents,
Holy Spirit Roman Catholic School's mission is to create an educational environment in which learning and practicing the truths of the Catholic Faith are central to the development of the child. Our purpose is to assist families with the education of their children, and to nourish both parents and students in the Eucharistic life of the Church. In partnership with our families, we strive to produce well-rounded individuals rooted in the truths of the Faith and the educational scholarship needed to prosper in the worldwide community. Each child is recognized as a unique individual, with personal dignity and worth, created in the image of God and loved by Him.
Holy Spirit Roman Catholic School makes use of a traditional instruction approach with a curriculum, which stresses basic academic skills of reading, writing, and computation as well as critical analysis skills. Our curriculum is designed to emphasize the student's mastery of the fundamentals of reading, writing and math as well as to encourage their creative abilities. A strong phonics program is the basis for the development of the reading program, and the study of grammar and language arts is considered a foundation for good writing. In addition to academic courses, students have classes in physical education, computer, music, Latin and art. The child is challenged to develop his talents according to his capacity so that he might fulfill his duty to live in the grace of God and strive for holiness. He is taught to use his gifts for the honor and glory of God.
The students are provided with a rich sacramental life that includes daily Mass, First Friday Adoration, catechesis, celebrations of the liturgical year, and opportunities for works of mercy and community outreach. Students are also introduced to various forms of prayer and worship, emphasizing the Eucharistic and Marian life of the Church. Our guiding principles are proclaimed in the doctrinal, moral and social teachings of the Catholic Church as set forth in the Catechism of the Catholic Church and rooted in Sacred Scripture.
I invite any family interested in a Catholic education for their children to fill out an application and call the school office at (810)-231-9199 Ext. 214 for an appointment and tour. I look forward to meeting you and your children. I am very excited about what we have to offer here at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic School and I hope we have the opportunity to educate your children.
In Christ through Mary,
Mrs. Anna M. Piccirillo Loewe
